Working with glass tubing in the lab is both fun and useful. It's fun because you can make glass animals and other shapes if you get bored and it's useful because the technique allows you to make custom connectors for other pieces of glassware or to make your own pipettes and capillary tubes. All you need in order to get started is some glass and a flame:
